Homeopathy Remedies for Atherosclerosis
Atherosclerosis is the thickening and hardening of the coronary arteries. When an artery becomes hardened, its walls become rigid and non elastic. This is caused by excessive deposits of fatty substances in the inner walls of the arteries. A diet rich in cholesterol, hydrogenated fat, and low in fiber allows plaques to form in the walls of the arteries.
As fatty
substances build-up within the inner walls of the vessel, it lessens the flow
of blood to the heart muscle. If a piece of plaque wall breaks and completely
obstructs the flow of blood to the heart muscle, it will lead to a heart attack. If the impairment
occurs in the blood vessel that supplies blood to the brain, it will lead to a
stroke.
The most common
symptom of atherosclerosis is intense, pain in the chest, (angina pectoris),
caused when the heart muscle does not get enough oxygen and blood supply.
A cerebral
hemorrhage may occur if atherosclerosis is combined with hypertension (high
blood pressure).
Deposits of fat
substances pose a hazard to the vessels of the heart, brain, and lower
extremities. If the blood supply to the lower extremities is reduced, it may
lead to the death of the leg tissue. Diabetics may develop atherosclerotic
obstructions in the arteries of the leg. One must avoid injuries to the leg.
